Since 1991 General Garage Door Service, Inc., was founded in 1991 by the Chapa family. The first shop was in a store-front located in Palmview and the operation consisted of three people.

The company quickly grew to include warehouse facilities and more employees.

The locally owned and family-operated business has grown and prospered over the last 15 years by consistently striving to provide superior products and dependable service at affordable prices.

Having outgrown its Palmview facility, GGDS moved to the new Pharr location in 2005, both to expand its facilities and to be more accessible to the McAllen / Pharr / Edinburg metroplex.

The old location still houses the fabrication operations of General Ornamental Gates a division of GGDS.

With over 30,000 square feet of warehouse and office space, GGDS offers quality overhead doors and operators for residential and commercial application.

The gate division designs, fabricates and installs custom made ornamental wrought iron and aluminum gates for homes, subdivisions and businesses.

GGDS service crews strive to be on time, every time and to ensure customers that professional technicians tend to their service needs whenever a problem arises.
